Central TX Track & Sign Certification 5/19/2024
The Earth Native Wilderness School organized 2 Track and Sign Certifications around Bastrop, Texas from May 18-19, 2024. Dave Scott ran one of the certifications and I ran the other.
We spent half of Saturday at the Earth Native School campus and the rest under a large bridge in Austin. The second day was spent at a favorite tracking spot along Cedar Creek. All told, saw the tracks of 33 species, including 15 mammals, 12 birds, 2 herps, and 4 invertebrates. Some favorites include beaver tracks and feeding sign, a heron cough pellet, vulture tracks, and tracks of a stray cat jumping onto a wall.
Congratulations to Emily André for earning her Track & Sign Professional certificate!
A big thanks to Dave Scott and Earth Native Wilderness School for organizing this certification.
