Ventura Tracker Certification 11/19/2022
On November 118 & 19, I conducted a Track and Sign Certification for the Ventura County Wildlife Trackers in Southern California.
We saw the tracks of 23 species, including 16 mammals, 4 birds, 2 invertebrates, and a few signs left by humans. We spent the first day 2 amazing spots in the Los Padres National Forest. The tracking conditions were incredible. Among many others, we we saw beautiful tracks of a black bear with a tiny cub, mountain lion, vole, bobcat, coyote and many others. We also had a question on an actual black bear foot! We spent day 2 in Ventura under a large bridge.
A big thanks to Wyatt Harris for organizing this certification. I also want to thank Martyn Lenoble for assisting.
Also, a huge congratulations is due to Wyatt Harris who earned his Level 4 certificate! This is the highest level a person can earn at a regular Track & Sign Certification.
