Central Texas Certification 5/28/2017
The Earth Native Wilderness School organized a Track and Sign Certification in and around Austin Texas from May 27-28, 2017.
We saw the tracks of 30 species, including 16 mammals, 5 birds, 3 herps, and 6 invertebrates. We spent the first day at a pond at McKinney Roughs Nature Park. Due to an early heat wave it was a blazing hot day, but the participants pushed on through. Day 2 was spent at Roy G Guerrero Colorado River Park and at the Earth Native property. We saw some great tracks and sign during the certification. One of my favorites was cliff swallow, barn swallow, and cave swallow nests all under the same bridge. See the photos below.
A big thanks to Dave Scott of Earth Native Wilderness School for organizing this certification. I also want to thank Chris Hyde and Anne Vincent for assisting.
