San Diego Certification 03/23/2013

Published on March 23, 2013 under Certifications

The Western Tracking Institute hosted a Track and Sign Specialist Certification in San Diego County on March 23-24, 2013.

We saw the tracks of 35 species, including 13 mammals, 14 birds, 3 herps, 4 invertebrates, and several signs of human activity! Some of the highlights were: beautiful hawk tracks, flicker tracks, tracks of displaying male turkeys, turkey vulture tracks, horned lark tracks, and long-tailed weasel tracks.

Congratulations to Connor O’Malley, Michelle Peziol, Preston Taylor, and Nate Harvey for earning Track and Sign Specialist! An extra congratulations is due to Michelle for becoming the first ever female Track and Sign Specialist for North America and the 4th ever in the world!

Thanks to Barry Martin for hosting the eval and helping out. Also thanks to Kim Davis and Dale Ritenour for assisting.
