San Diego Tracker Certification 11/14/2021

Published on November 15, 2021 under News

On November 13 & 14, I conducted a Track and Sign Certification for the Southwest Wildlife Online Tracking Training group in San Diego, California.

We saw the tracks of 32 species, including 19 mammals, 10 birds, 1 herp, 1 invertebrate, and 1 track of a branch blowing in the wind. We spent the first day at three different sites in eastern San Diego. Day 2 was spent at the Lake Morena park. Among many others great tracks, we we saw tracks and sign of a spotted skunk, bobcat, toad, and badger! See the photos below.

A big thanks to Bob Ollerton for organizing and assisting with this certification. I also want to thank Peter Russel for assisting. This was a first certification for many, but I was very impressed by their tracking skills. This study group is turning out to be a fantastic way to learn tracking
