Santa Barbara Tracker Certification 11/11/2018
I conducted a Track and Sign Certification in the Santa Barbara Area from November 10-11, 2018 for the Wilderness Youth Project.
We saw the tracks of 27 species, including 15 mammals, 8 birds, 1 herps, 2 invertebrates, and marks of a branch blowing in the wind. We spent the first day at the Freemont Trail where we found tracks of gray fox, mountain lion, black bear and many other species. Day 2 was spent on the beach at Coal Oil Point where we found beautiful tracks of striped skunk, black-bellied plover, and bobcats. See the photos below.
